We hope everyone is having a great week at Juniper Elementary! As we head into another week of learning and growth, we want to share important reminders and updates to help your child stay on track and make the most of their school experience. Be sure to check out the information below so you don’t miss any opportunities to get involved and support your student’s success.

Halloween Parade

Please join us for our annual Halloween Parade on October 31st at 8:15am! To ensure our celebration is a safe and happy one, please follow these guidelines:

Costumes:

  • Encourage costumes that reflect positive characters.

  • No violent costumes or weapons are allowed.

  • Masks that block the student’s view when walking should not be worn.

  • No blood or frightening images.

  • Students should be able to change out of their costumes independently, without help.

  • Any costumes that do not follow our guidelines will not be allowed in the parade.

If your child plans to wear a costume, they should come to school already dressed in it. Students are required to change out of their costumes immediately after the parade, so please bring a change of clothes as a normal learning day will continue for all students.

Parents:You are welcome to come on campus to enjoy the parade. The gates will open at 8:00 AM

Candy: Students are not permitted to bring candy to school following Halloween

We look forward to seeing everyone at the parade and celebrating together!

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week at Juniper Elementary is happening this week, October 27–31, celebrating a drug-free lifestyle with the theme “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free!” This annual campaign, started in 1986 to honor DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, encourages students and families to talk about the importance of saying no to drugs and alcohol and making positive choices. Students received their puzzle piece last week, which includes a healthy pledge, please read it, have your child sign it, and return it to school.

Throughout the week, we will celebrate with Spirit Days:

  • Monday: Red Day

  • Tuesday: Tie-Dye Day

  • Wednesday: Wear your favorite sports gear

  • Thursday: Wear a Jaguar shirt

Friday: Wear a Halloween costume or orange and black

Lockdown Drill

Juniper Elementary will practice a lockdown drill on October 29 at 1:40 PM to ensure students and staff know how to stay safe in the event of an emergency. During the drill, students will quietly stay in their classrooms, doors will be locked, and lights will be turned off. Teachers will guide students through the procedures, emphasizing staying calm and following instructions. These drills help everyone practice safety measures and be prepared in a real emergency.
