PBIS - Congratulations to Juniper staff and students for reaching the highest honor of PBIS recognition from the state of California! We are being recognized for the excellence we put into the implementation of the core features of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). PBIS is an evidence-based framework aimed at improving student behavior, social-emotional competence, and academic outcomes by creating a positive school environment. This honor reflects our commitment to fostering a supportive and productive learning atmosphere for everyone at Juniper. Great job, Jaguars!
After School Enrichment Classes - ELOP classes begin this week! Some classes may start on different days, so be sure to double-check the schedule. If you're not sure which class your child is signed up for, contact your child’s teacher or the office.

ELAC Meeting - We will be holding an ELAC (English Language Learners Advisory Committee) Meeting on Wednesday, September 18th, at 5:30 PM via Zoom. ELAC is a school-level committee made up of parents and staff, working together to advise school officials on English learner programs and services. We encourage all families of English learners to join us for this important meeting, where we will discuss ways to support and enhance the learning experience for our students. It’s going to be an evening full of fun and laughter for the whole family. Be sure to bring your blankets and chairs to make it a cozy night under the stars! We can’t wait to see you there!"
PE BTSN - Mr. Holmberg, the PE teacher at Juniper Elementary School, will be holding an informational Back to School Night on Tuesday, September 17th, from 3:00 - 4:00 pm in Room 51. Feel free to stop by if you have any questions or would like more information about activities, sports, and expectations for the PE Program at Juniper.
Arrival and Dismissal - It has been observed that some families are dropping off students along the red curb on Juniper Street or in the parking lot of the neighboring apartments. Please note that stopping at the red curb, even with your hazard lights on, is illegal, and the apartment parking lot is private property. We ask that everyone respects the property of our neighbors as part of our community. All students being driven to school should be dropped off in the designated Drop-Off Zone in the school parking lot. Additionally, please use the crosswalk, which is supervised by a crossing guard, to safely cross Juniper Street. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
Running Club - Running Club is a great way for students to start the day with energy and focus! It kicks off on 9/24 and will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:40-7:55 am on the lower field track. It is open to 1st through 5th grade, the club encourages healthy habits, and fun through regular exercise. Permission slips were sent home last week, so please make sure to return them. We’re excited to see our students build their stamina and enjoy running together!
